Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Anodize IT ("I", "me") is a sole trader business operated by Samit Patel, based in London, United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data I collect through this website and my services, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What I collect and why
- Contact form and email enquiries — your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message. I use this to reply to you and to provide the support you've asked about. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- Payments — payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card details; Stripe provides me with your name, email, and payment status so I can deliver what you've bought. Stripe acts as its own data controller for payment processing — see Stripe's privacy policy. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Support work on your devices — in the course of fixing or managing your devices I may incidentally see personal data stored on them. I access only what's needed to do the job, don't copy it off your device unless you ask me to (e.g. for a backup you've requested), and treat everything I see as confidential.
What I don't do
- I don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
- I don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this site. The site itself sets no cookies.
- I don't send marketing emails unless you've explicitly asked for them.
Third-party services this site uses
- Stripe — payment and subscription processing.
- Google Fonts — the site loads fonts from Google's servers, which involves your browser sending your IP address to Google. See Google's privacy policy.
- Form processing — messages sent via the contact form are delivered through a form-processing service and then to my email.
- Cloudflare — this site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may process visitor IP addresses as part of serving and securing the site.
How long I keep your data
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records relating to paid work (invoices, payment records) are kept for 6 years as required by UK tax law. Data I no longer need is deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@anodize-it.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
